MyStat PCBs for free
-
Does anyone need a MyStat PCB and is based ln the EU? It's probably useless to most people who donct have an oven and advanced SMT soldering skills. Anyways, if you're interested, I can send one over for free.

@czahl You can pretty easily get them on digikey or similar but there is this BGA micromodule that you have to solder in an oven I guess. The rest of the parts could potentially be soldered with a classical soldering iron if you have a steady hand. What's your equipment and experience with soldering?

@sepi I tried soldering one of these by hand once, it didn't go well, lol. You need a REALLY steady hand and some very good soldering equipment. When you solder this by hand some pieces have really short contact points, so it is very hard to figure our where you have shorts. I got some magic smoke

yeah, I usually order at RS; there will by some way to get them.

I'm using an ERSA i-CON and Weller 1010 since "some" years. Soldering of small footprints will be done by soldering below a Bresser 3D Microscope. I do not have a reflow oven, so the BGA will be a challenge but should be possible with my hot-air soldering station as well.

You are absolutely right you have to be very careful. But I also manged to turn the 0-ohm resistor on the ESP32-cam to use the external antenna.

@czahl You are clearly way better at soldering than I am. I have a bunch of components for a previous mystat version plus the boards, I could send them your way if you're interested in them too. In any case, keep us posted on how it goes!

@danielfp248 @sepi oh damned, now I have awaken some expectations
@danielfp248 @kirk you as maintainer of this forum, any idea how to exchange PN or email addresses?
